Protner Joanenes also feature a superb winery which was opened in 1996. In addition to selected varieties of wine, they also serve their guests many homemade specialties such as homemade pate, cottage cheese with pumpkin seed oil and much more.
Protner Joannes wines are on the very top in Slovenia. Long tradition and hard work made Protner’s wine famous and recognizable all over the world.
Protner’s cellar starts with a room full of large oval oak barrels in which wines mature for at least six months. The next room has stainless steel tanks where quality wines are stored before being offered on the market. The most integral part of the cellar is the bottle cellar, where wine matures in bottles at a constant temperature. The cellar has also an older section, which is over 200 years old. This is where Protner keeps the best wine from their own vineyards.
