welcome to
ZLATI GRIČ
WINERY
At the winery there is an amazing dining establishment - Restaurant Grič. It offer homelike hospitality and amazing high-quality cuisine to individual guests, organized tourists and private parties.
Zlati Grič started as Gastuž Monastery, which was once part of the Monastery of the Carthusian Monks in Žice. It was first constructed in the 12th century. The monks poured wine to foreign travelers there and it also served as a restaurant.
In the heart of its vineyards lies one of the most modern wine cellars in the region. The building is over 11,000 square feet and has a capacity for over 300,000 gallons of wine. It is fully under the earth and its roof is covered with grass and overgrowth. You can see only a few modern frontal elements in this otherwise natural building, which is well incorporated in the existing ambiance of the wine growing landscape.
